High strength combined with high machining hardness, high wear resistance, excellent thermal conductivity, good tempering characteristics, and excellent air-hardenability. Suitable for water cooling, nitridable, good polishability. Suitable for etching and knurling.
Possible applications:
Die casting, extrusion, hot and cold shear blades, other thermoforming tools.
The ESR version:
High purity, homogeneity and hardness.
Supply of Präzi steel plates:
In bar lengths of 500 and 1030 mm with machining allowance, in plates with square cross section and shape, maximum hardness 229 HB

Heat treatment:
Annealing: 650 – 680 °C
Process annealing: 750 – 780 °C
Hardening by quenching: 1000 – 1030 °C
Rapid cooling: Oil, air or hot bath
Tempering: 530 – 680 °C
Special heat treatment:
In case of nitriding or EDM, the tempering temperature should be higher than the maximum secondary hardness level. It is recommended that tempering be repeated twice.
